Barcode generator
Make Code 128, EAN-13, UPC and other barcodes for labels and stock.
Type a number or code, one per line, and download print-ready barcodes for labels, stock and shops.
What this tool makes
A barcode is a row of black and white bars that a scanner turns back into a number or a short code. Shops use them at the billing counter, warehouses use them to count stock, and offices use them on files, ID cards and asset tags. This tool draws the bars for you. Type a number or a code, choose the barcode type, and download a sharp image ready for a label printer, a sticker sheet or a product box. It works the same on a phone and on a computer, so a shop owner can make a new label right at the counter in a few seconds.
Which barcode type should I choose?
Code 128 is the safe choice for your own use. It accepts any English letters, digits and common symbols, stays compact, and almost every scanner reads it, so it suits stock codes, invoice numbers, courier labels and file numbers. EAN-13 is the 13-digit retail barcode printed on packaged products around the world, and EAN-8 is its short form for very small packs. UPC-A is the 12-digit retail barcode used mostly in the United States and Canada. Code 39 is an older industrial type still found on ID cards, libraries and some machines. ITF-14 is printed on outer cartons and shipping cases.
Check digits are added for you
EAN, UPC and ITF barcodes end with a check digit, calculated from the other digits, that lets a scanner notice a misprint. You only need to type the main digits: 12 for EAN-13, 7 for EAN-8, 11 for UPC-A and 13 for ITF-14, and PDFPixo adds the last digit itself. If you type the full number including the check digit, the tool tells you when that digit is wrong instead of printing a code that will fail at the counter.
An important note on EAN numbers
This tool can draw any valid number as an EAN-13 barcode, but drawing it does not make the number yours. Supermarkets and online marketplaces expect retail barcodes whose numbers were issued to your company by GS1, the organisation that manages them; in India that is GS1 India, and its numbers usually start with 890. Use this tool to print barcodes for numbers you have been given, or use Code 128 for numbers you invent yourself for internal stock, so that your codes never clash with someone else's product.
Many barcodes at once
Type one value per line to make up to 500 barcodes in a single go. Each value becomes its own image named after the value, and they all arrive together in one ZIP file, ready to place on a sheet of labels. If any line does not fit the chosen type, nothing is made and the tool shows which values are wrong, so you can fix them before printing a whole batch.
Getting a barcode that scans
Dark bars on a light background scan best; PDFPixo refuses colour pairs that are too close for a scanner. Keep the white space on both sides of the bars, because scanners use it to find where the code starts and ends. Choose the normal or thick bar width for cheap thermal printers and small labels, and download SVG when a designer or print shop will resize the barcode, since SVG stays sharp at any size. Always scan one printed sample with a phone or a shop scanner before printing hundreds.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I use these barcodes on products I sell in shops?
- You can print the barcode, but for retail chains the EAN or UPC number itself should come from GS1 (GS1 India in India). For your own stock and internal use, Code 128 with your own codes is the right choice.
- Why does PDFPixo say my value is not valid?
- Each type accepts only certain characters and lengths. EAN-13 needs 12 or 13 digits, EAN-8 7 or 8, UPC-A 11 or 12 and ITF-14 13 or 14. Code 128 accepts any English letters, digits and symbols.
- Can I make barcodes in Hindi?
- No. Barcode standards only store English letters, digits and a few symbols. Use a QR code if you need text in Hindi or another language.
- Which file format should I download?
- PNG works in Word, Excel and label software. SVG is best for designers and print shops because it can be resized without losing sharpness.
- Are my product numbers uploaded?
- No. Barcodes are drawn in your own browser and nothing is sent to a server.
