Print 2 or 4 pages on one sheet
This tool puts several PDF pages on one A4 sheet before you print. With 2 pages per sheet, two pages sit side by side on a landscape A4 sheet. With 4 pages per sheet, four pages sit in a 2 × 2 grid on a portrait A4 sheet. It is the easiest way to print notes, slides, handouts and long documents with half or a quarter of the paper.
Sharp text
The pages are placed as real PDF pages, not as pictures, so the text stays sharp at any zoom and can still be selected and searched in the new file. Each page is made smaller to fit its place on the sheet while keeping its shape. Pages that are turned sideways in the original PDF are shown the same way they look in a PDF viewer.
Page order
Pages are placed in reading order: left to right, then top to bottom. With 4 pages per sheet, page 1 is top left, page 2 top right, page 3 bottom left and page 4 bottom right. If the last sheet has fewer pages, the empty places are left blank. To change the order or remove pages first, use the organize PDF pages tool.
Thin border option
Switch on "Thin line around each page" to draw a light grey line around every small page. This helps when the pages have white edges and you want to see where one page ends and the next begins, for example when cutting printed handouts.
What is not copied
Only what is printed on each page is copied. Comments, filled fill-in boxes and links are not carried over to the new sheets. If your PDF is a filled form, first use the flatten PDF tool so the filled answers become part of the page, then make the 2 or 4 pages per sheet copy.
Printing tips
Print the new PDF at 100% or "Actual size". With 4 pages per sheet the text becomes about half its normal height, which is fine for slides and large print but can be small for dense text. Try 2 pages per sheet first if you are not sure.
Locked PDFs
A PDF with an open password must be unlocked first with the remove password tool, using the password you know.
An example
A teacher has a 60-slide presentation as a PDF for students. With 4 pages per sheet it becomes 15 sheets, and printed on both sides it needs only 8 sheets of paper.
Private by design
Everything happens inside your own browser. Your files and the details you type are never uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. For personal papers such as ID cards, bank details and salary documents, this matters more than anything else.
