Both sides of a card on one A4 page

Banks, offices, colleges and mobile shops often ask for a copy of an ID card with the front and back on one page. This tool takes two photos of a card, the front first and the back second, and places them side by side on one A4 page at the real size of a bank-card style ID card: 85.6 × 54 mm. It works for an Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence, a college ID or any card of that common size.

Real card size

The page is made at 300 dots per inch. When you print it at 100% ("Actual size"), each card comes out at exactly 85.6 × 54 mm, the same as the plastic card. Do not choose "Fit to page" in the print window, because that changes the size.

Copies and cut lines

Choose 1 to 4 copies. Each copy is one row with the front on the left and the back on the right, so 4 copies fill most of the page. Dashed cut lines around every card make it easy to cut them out with scissors. Switch the cut lines off if you only want a clean copy to attach to a form.

Fill or fit

With "Fill and crop", each photo fills the whole card area, and anything outside the card shape is cut off at the edges. With "Fit inside", the whole photo is shown and the spare space is white. For the neatest result, first crop each photo to the edge of the card with the edit photo tool, then use "Fill and crop".

PDF or JPG

Save the page as a PDF to print or email, or as a JPG picture (2480 × 3508 pixels) to share on WhatsApp or upload where only pictures are accepted.

Keep your copy safe

Before you hand over a copy, think about what the other person needs. You can hide the first eight digits of your Aadhaar number with the hide part of an image tool, and you can write the purpose and date on the copy with the self attest image tool, for example "For SIM card only".

One photo only?

If you choose only one photo, only that side is placed on the page. If you choose more than two photos, the first two are used.

An example

Meena needs to give a copy of her driving licence to a car rental office. She takes photos of the front and back, crops them to the card edge, makes one A4 PDF here with cut lines switched off, and prints it at 100%.

Private by design

Everything happens inside your own browser. Your files and the details you type are never uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. For personal papers such as ID cards, bank details and salary documents, this matters more than anything else.

How to use it

  2. Pick copies and type Choose 1–4 copies and PDF or JPG.
  3. Make the page Both sides are placed at real card size.
  4. Print at 100% Use "Actual size", not "Fit to page".
