Compress photo to 20 KB
This page opens the photo compressor with the target already set to 20 KB. Add one photo or many, press the button, and each one is made 20 KB or smaller. A 20 KB limit is common for passport-size photos and signatures on exam and job forms.
How it reaches the size
For JPG and WebP photos, the tool first lowers the quality step by step. If that is not enough, it also makes the picture a little smaller in pixels, until the file fits under 20 KB. PNG files are reduced by using fewer colours; if a PNG cannot reach the target, the tool says so and you can choose JPG instead. The final size of every photo is shown after processing.
Width and height rules
Many forms ask for both a KB limit and exact pixels, such as 200 × 230 for a photo. For those, use the exam photo or signature tool, which sets the pixels and the KB together. This page is for when only the size in KB matters.
Many photos at once
You can add several photos together. They are compressed one after another and downloaded as one ZIP file. iPhone HEIC photos also work.
